Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a term to describe the technologies used to build 3D objects by adding layer-upon-layer of
material, whether the material is plastic, metal, concrete, etc.Common to AM technologies is the use
of a computer, 3D CAD software, machine equipment and material. Once a CAD model is made, the AM equipment
reads in data from the CAD file and start to build the layers of liquid, powder, sheet material or other,

Though electrical engineers work in a totally different way than mechanical engineers, today’s complex design projects require tighter integration between the two disciplines. As the design is changing at a rapid pace, and products need to be developed quicker, disparate engineering teams MUST work closer together.

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) gave recognition to local design excellence at the 5th annual Furniture Design Competition that was held at the Johannesburg Homemakers Expo, which took place at the Ticketpro Dome from 22-25 February 2018.
Over the course of three full days of SOLIDWORKS World 2018, more than 5,000 members of the SOLIDWORKS community got to attend more than 200 breakout sessions.
